Step 5: Prepare the top of the bag for the handles.
One top of the wrap-around panel is probably a little long. Trim it so that the top of the bag is even all the way around.
Press the bag, turning the seams either way.
Turn under 1/2 inch on the top of the bag. Press.
Turn under 1 inch and press again.

The handles will be attached to the top of the bag, one on each end of the wrap-around panel (not on the side panels).
To mark where the handles will be sewn in, place a pin 3 inches in from each side seam:

Pin the rest of the top of the bag, leaving the space between the above pins un-pinned. That is where the handles will be pinned and sewn.
